Reason I ask is I saw a guys mod where the boot loader gets flashed or cat'ted rather to the same device that is used when mounting /cache. You have to hold volume down + power, when the light appears on the power button YOU MUST RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON WHILE CONTINUING TO HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON, when Someone over at the CM forums helped me try and fix the partitions in the internal memory, but we both think the hardware was the culprit.
